FAQ:Custom Molded & Non-Standard Rubber Parts

  1. Product Basics & Material Selection(产品基础与材料选型)

Q: What materials do you offer for custom rubber parts?
A: We provide full custom rubber materials including:

  • NBR: Oil-resistant, wear-resistant, cost-effective for general hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • FKM/Viton: High temperature resistance, excellent chemical resistance for harsh oil/chemical environments.
  • EPDM: Weather, ozone, steam and water resistance for outdoor, plumbing and HVAC.
  • Silicone (VMQ): Wide temperature range, food-grade, medical-grade, low compression set.
  • PU (Polyurethane): Extreme wear and pressure resistance for hydraulic seals and buffer parts.
  • NR/CR: High elasticity, shock absorption, weather resistance for anti-vibration parts.

Q: How to choose rubber hardness?
A:

  • Sealing applications: Shore A 50–90°
  • Shock absorption & buffer: Shore A 30–60°
Higher hardness = better pressure resistance & wear resistance.
Lower hardness = better sealing & fitting performance.

Q: What tolerance can you achieve?
A:

  • Normal molded parts: ±0.1~±0.3mm
  • Precision custom profiles & sealing faces: ±0.05~±0.1mm
Tolerance depends on part structure, size and material.
  1. Design & Structure FAQ(设计与结构答疑)

Q: What should I note when designing custom rubber profiles?
A:

  • Avoid sharp corners and ultra-thin walls to prevent tearing or incomplete molding.
  • Reserve 1.5%–3% shrinkage according to material.
  • Consider compression, torsion and assembly direction to avoid stress concentration.
  • Provide 2D/3D drawings for best accuracy.

Q: Why do seals fail or leak?
A: Common causes:

  • Improper compression rate (too large → permanent set; too small → leakage).
  • Material incompatible with medium (oil, water, acid, alkali, high temperature).
  • Installation damage, eccentric wear or wrong groove size.
  • Aging, ozone cracking or thermal degradation.

Q: Which seal is right for my equipment?
A:

  • Static sealing (no movement): O-rings, gaskets, custom profile gaskets.
  • Dynamic reciprocating/rotating: Piston seals, rod seals, oil seals, U-cups.
  • High pressure: Combined seals, step seals, anti-extrusion backup rings.
  • Irregular cavities: Fully custom molded rubber profiles.
  1. Production & Customization(生产与定制服务)

Q: What manufacturing processes do you use?
A:

  • Compression molding: Mass production, stable quality.
  • Injection molding: High precision, small parts, high efficiency.
  • Extrusion & vulcanization: Rubber profiles, long strips, special sections.
  • CNC machining: Prototypes, small batches, special-shaped parts.

Q: Do you accept custom molds and small orders?
A:

  • We support custom mold design and manufacturing.
  • Small quantity trial orders & prototypes are available.
  • We can also reverse-engineer and reproduce based on samples.

Q: Can you make parts according to customer samples?
A: Yes. We can measure samples, test material properties, and reproduce identical or improved parts.

  1. Application & Industry Solutions(应用行业解决方案)

Q: What industries do you serve?
A: Hydraulic & pneumatic, automotive, machinery, food & beverage, medical, HVAC, plumbing, outdoor equipment, packaging, drilling machinery, laser equipment, etc.

Q: Which material for food/medical equipment?
A: Food-grade silicone, EPDM with FDA, food-safe certifications, non-toxic, odorless.

Q: Which material for high-temperature or steam use?
A: Above 120℃ → FKM; -60℃~200℃ → Silicone; saturated steam → EPDM.

Q: Which material for hydraulic & oil systems?
A: NBR, PU, FKM with backup rings for high pressure anti-extrusion.

  1. Order & Quality FAQ(订单与质量常见问题)

Q: What documents do I need to provide for quotation?
A: 2D drawing (PDF/DWG), 3D model (STEP/IGS), material, hardness, quantity, working condition.

Q: Do you provide testing and certificates?
A: Yes, including material reports, hardness test, dimensional inspection, pressure test, food-grade/medical-related certifications as required.

Q: What is your lead time for samples and mass production?
A:

  • Samples: 3–10 days
  • Mold opening: 7–15 days
  • Mass production: 10–30 days based on quantity
